Why should I become a member of the Parkinson's Support Group of Green Valley?

Support groups come in all shapes and sizes. At the Parkinson’s Support Group of Green Valley you will feel welcome and:

  • You will meet people in the same or similar situation with the same or similar concerns;
  • You can to talk about your fears and receive support that fits your situation. You no longer feel alone;
  • You can use the resources in our library which focus specifically on Parkinson’s Disease issues;
  • You can gain more depth in your understanding of services available in the Green Valley area; and you may learn about new medications and legal responsibilities when you attend our Lecture Series (September through May) at the GVR East Social Center, first Friday of the month at 1 pm;
  • You will find social networking through our Exercise Class at the Valley Presbyterian Church, Friends Night Out at local restaurants, Meet & Greet breakfast at the Chicago Deli, Sac Club at Friends in Deed, and so much more;
  • You will make new friends. It is so much easier when you meet those who can help you push the rock up the hill; and most importantly,
  • You will find hope, support and information when times are challenging.

How much are the membership dues for the Parkinson's Support Group of Green Valley?

Membership is free. We rely on grants and donations to provide the services that benefit the Parkinson's community.

Does the Support Group need volunteers?

Yes, your help is always appreciated. Currently we need:

  • Someone to video exercise class to post on You
    Tube;
  • Lego pieces that are no longer being used;
  • Someone to assist at the
    refreshment table at lectures;
  • Someone to assist at the registration
    table at lectures;
  • Someone to assist with the library.
